1.6 News and website changes

This is a 3 part news post so bear with me on the boring first part and I'll reward you with something in the 3rd part.

Website: As you saw Marm has hinted to everyone that a new domain name exists: www.hiprmod.net That website will be going live very soon. I'm currently working on a forum conversion to the new webhost and in the next few days the forums will be going down while everything is transferred over to the new host. The forums will be copied over so whatever information was here before the forums go down will arrive at the new website. I'll also reward everyone with some more 1.6 stuff at the new site when it's up and running. Everyone's accounts will remain the same and all the posts should be in tact. No starting over for once. The reason this has taken so long was we didn't have ownership of the forum software until recently so we weren't able to transfer everything over right away. Marm has secured that license and we are currently testing the new forums.

HIPR: No it's not a myth, contrary to what some people have posted. The entire dev team has been working on HIPR while on the new webhost. It's been a slow process getting the dev's migrated over but things are starting to shape up. When 1.6 is released you'll be hearing (and seeing) a lot more HIPR stuff but for now the focus in the media will be 1.6.

1.6: This news post will be a first in a series of news posts on 1.6 leading up to the forums closing down for a few days to transfer them to the new host smile.gif We are finishing up some last minute stuff including the installers to get ready to release 1.6. When? No date planned just yet but if things go as planned you should hear some good news very soon.

Now since everyone has been very good and read through this entire post (don't bullshit me right? tongue.gif ) here is some new eye candy for you. ifOnly recently joined the Dev team a few months ago and has taken a map that I broke in 1.6 and not only fixed it to work with 1.6, he also made it look very cool. Here are some before/after screenshots of this redesigned map in 1.6. He's busted his ass on this so please if you see him tell him thanks because without his help and dedication hi_depot would have been removed from the lineup in 1.6.
